Lekeelekee: Africa-Built Social Media Platform to Launch in January 2026
Lekeelekee, a new Africa-built social media platform, is set to launch in January 2026. Announced by Prince Nduka Obaigbena, the platform aims to empower creators, editors, and broadcasters to distribute and monetize content independently.

Lekeelekee, a social media platform built out of African for the world, is expected to be launched in January 2026, according to an announcement by the Founding Chairman and Editor-in-chief of THISDAY Media Group and ARISE News, Prince Nduka Obaigbena.

This announcement was made during the 21st All Nigerian Editors Conference held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

According to Obaigbena, Lekeelekee is a homegrown African alternative designed to allows creators, editors, and broadcasters to distribute and monitize their content without depending heavily on external digital platforms.
