CONTROVERSIES AND CRITICISM
The release of Trump's T1 phone comes just weeks after Trump threatened to impose 25% tariffs on global smartphone brands like Apple, Samsung, which continues to manufacture their devices oversees, thereby, positioning T1 as a domestic alternative.
Despite the bold branding and patriotism, the Trump organization official website clearly stated in its disclaimer:
Trump Mobile, its products and services are not designed, developed, manufactured, distributed or sold by The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals. T1 Mobile LLC uses the "Trump" name and trademark pursuant to the terms of a limited license agreement which may be terminated or revoked according to its terms.
Now the question is:, is this device truly designed and manufactured in the U.S.
Expect suggests that the U.S lacks the full infrastructure for smartphone production. Most Global smartphone giants rely oversea for its various components.
Francisco Jeronimo, vice-president at International Data Corp (IDC) told NBC that this is completely impossible.
