Dutch Court Orders Meta to Offer Non-Profiling Feeds on Facebook and Instagram

On Thursday, October 2, 2025, the Amsterdam District Court ruled that Meta must give its users the option to select a feed that is not based on profiling, directly within every section of Instagram and Facebook.

Meta was recently sued by Bits of Freedom, a digital human rights organization, for violating the Digital Services Act (DSA).

The Digital Services Act (DSA) aims to protect the interests and fundamental rights of consumers online by giving them more control and choice over how they interact on digital platforms.

Meta Ireland has two weeks to comply with this ruling
