Qualcomm Acquires Arduino to Drive the Future of AI and Edge Computing

Qualcomm Technologies, inc., on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, announced its agreement to acquire Arduino. This acquisition aims at making edge computing and AI more accessible to users.

As part of the move, Arduino is introducing and launching the UNO Q, powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ QRB2210 processor for building AI application. Accompanying this is the Arduino App Lab, a brand-new Integrated Development Environment (IDE) integrated with Edge Impulse platform to enable faster and easier AI models development.

Qualcomm is a global semiconductor and wireless technology company co-founded in 1985 by Irwin Jacobs, Andrew Viterbi, Franklin Antonio, Adelia Coffman, Andrew Cohon, Klein Gilhousen, and Harvey White.

Arduino operates as an open source that manufactures single-board microcontroller and microcontroller kits used in building digital devices.

With Arduino UNO Q as the first step, Qualcomm and Arduino aim to supercharge productivity across industries
